13:1 LAI TB, TUHAN berfirman kepada Musa:

13:2 LAI TB, “Suruhlah beberapa orang mengintai tanah Kanaan, yang akan Kuberikan kepada orang Israel; dari setiap suku nenek moyang mereka haruslah kausuruh seorang, semuanya pemimpin-pemimpin di antara mereka.”
KJV, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.

13:3 LAI TB, Lalu Musa menyuruh mereka dari padang gurun Paran, sesuai dengan titah TUHAN; semua orang itu adalah kepala-kepala di antara orang Israel.
KJV, And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

13:16 LAI TB, Itulah nama orang-orang yang disuruh Musa untuk mengintai negeri itu; dan Musa menamai Hosea bin Nun itu Yosua.
KJV, These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.

13:17 LAI TB, Maka Musa menyuruh mereka untuk mengintai tanah Kanaan, katanya kepada mereka: “Pergilah dari sini ke Tanah Negeb dan naiklah ke pegunungan,
KJV, And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:

13:18 LAI TB, dan amat-amatilah bagaimana keadaan negeri itu, apakah bangsa yang mendiaminya kuat atau lemah, apakah mereka sedikit atau banyak;
KJV, And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;

וּרְאִיתֶם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ מַה־הִוא וְאֶת־הָעָם הַיֹּשֵׁב עָלֶיהָ הֶחָזָק הוּא הֲרָפֶה הַמְעַט הוּא אִם־רָב׃
Translit, UREITEM ‘ET-HA’ARETS MA-HIV VE’ET-HA’AM HAYOSYEV ‘ALEIHA HEKHAZAQ HU HARAFEH HAME’AT HU ‘IM-RAV

13:19 LAI TB, dan bagaimana negeri yang didiaminya, apakah baik atau buruk, bagaimana kota-kota yang didiaminya, apakah mereka diam di tempat-tempat yang terbuka atau di tempat-tempat yang berkubu,
KJV, And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;

וּמָה הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־הוּא יֹשֵׁב בָּהּ הֲטֹובָה הִוא אִם־רָעָה וּמָה הֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר־הוּא יֹושֵׁב בָּהֵנָּה הַבְּמַחֲנִים אִם בְּמִבְצָרִים׃
Translit, UMAH HA’ARETS ‘ASYER-HU YOSYEV BA HATOVAH HIV ‘IM-RA’AH UMAH HE’ARIM ‘ASYER-HU YOSYEV BAHENAH HABEMAKHANIM ‘IM BEMIVTSARIM

13:20 LAI TB, dan bagaimana tanah itu, apakah gemuk atau kurus, apakah ada di sana pohon-pohonan atau tidak. Tabahkanlah hatimu dan bawalah sedikit dari hasil negeri itu.” Waktu itu ialah musim hulu hasil anggur.
KJV, And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.

וּמָה הָאָרֶץ הַשְּׁמֵנָה הִוא אִם־רָזָה הֲיֵשׁ־בָּהּ עֵץ אִם־אַיִן וְהִתְחַזַּקְתֶּם וּלְקַחְתֶּם מִפְּרִי הָאָרֶץ וְהַיָּמִים יְמֵי בִּכּוּרֵי עֲנָבִים׃

13:21 LAI TB, Mereka pergi ke sana, lalu mengintai negeri itu mulai dari padang gurun Zin sampai ke Rehob, ke jalan yang menuju ke Hamat.
KJV, So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.

וַיַּעֲלוּ וַיָּתֻרוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ מִמִּדְבַּר־צִן עַד־רְחֹב לְבֹא חֲמָת׃
Translit, VAYA’ALU VAYATURU ‘ET-HA’ARETS MIMIDBAR-TSIN ‘AD-REKHOV LEVO KHAMAT

13:22 LAI TB, Mereka berjalan melalui Tanah Negeb, lalu sampai ke Hebron; di sana ada Ahiman, Sesai dan Talmai, keturunan Enak. Hebron didirikan tujuh tahun lebih dahulu dari Soan di Mesir.
KJV, And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

וַיַּעֲלוּ בַנֶּגֶב וַיָּבֹא עַד־חֶבְרֹון וְשָׁם אֲחִימַן שֵׁשַׁי וְתַלְמַי יְלִידֵי הָעֲנָק וְחֶבְרֹון שֶׁבַע שָׁנִים נִבְנְתָה לִפְנֵי צֹעַן מִצְרָיִם׃
Translit, VAYA’ALU VANEGEV VAYAVO ‘AD-KHEVRON VESYAM ‘AKHIMAN SYESYAY VETALMAY YELIDEY HA’ANAK VEKHEVRON SYEVA SYANIM NIVNETA LIFNEY TSO’AN MITSRAYIM

13:23 LAI TB, Ketika mereka sampai ke lembah Eskol, dipotong merekalah di sana suatu cabang dengan setandan buah anggurnya, lalu berdualah mereka menggandarnya; juga mereka membawa beberapa buah delima dan buah ara.
KJV, And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

וַיָּבֹאוּ עַד־נַחַל אֶשְׁכֹּל וַיִּכְרְתוּ מִשָּׁם זְמֹורָה וְאֶשְׁכֹּול עֲנָבִים אֶחָד וַיִּשָּׂאֻהוּ בַמֹּוט בִּשְׁנָיִם וּמִן־הָרִמֹּנִים וּמִן־הַתְּאֵנִים׃
Translit, VAYAVO’U ‘AD-NAKHAL ‘ESYKOL VAYIKHRETU MISYAM ZEMORAH VE’ESYKOL ‘ANAVIM ‘EKHAD VAYISA’UHU VAMOT BISYNAYIM UMIN-HARIMONIM UMIN-HATE’ENIM

13:24 LAI TB, Tempat itu dinamai orang lembah Eskol, karena tandan buah anggur yang dipotong orang Israel di sana.
KJV, The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.

לַמָּקֹום הַהוּא קָרָא נַחַל אֶשְׁכֹּול עַל אֹדֹות הָאֶשְׁכֹּול אֲשֶׁר־כָּרְתוּ מִשָּׁם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

13:25 LAI TB, Sesudah lewat empat puluh hari pulanglah mereka dari pengintaian negeri itu,
KJV, And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

וַיָּשֻׁבוּ מִתּוּר הָאָרֶץ מִקֵּץ אַרְבָּעִים יֹום׃
Translit, VAYASYUVU MITUR HA’ARETS MIQETS ‘ARBA’IM YOM

13:26 LAI TB, dan langsung datang kepada Musa, Harun dan segenap umat Israel di Kadesh, di padang gurun Paran. Mereka membawa pulang kabar kepada keduanya dan kepada segenap umat itu dan memperlihatkan kepada sekaliannya hasil negeri itu.
KJV, And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

וַיֵּלְכוּ וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אַהֲרֹן וְאֶל־כָּל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־מִדְבַּר פָּארָן קָדֵשָׁה וַיָּשִׁיבוּ אֹותָם דָּבָר וְאֶת־כָּל־הָעֵדָה וַיַּרְאוּם אֶת־פְּרִי הָאָרֶץ׃
Translit, VAYELKHU VAYAVO’U ‘EL-MOSYEH VE’EL-‘AHARON VE’EL-KOL-‘ADAT BENEY-YISRA’EL ‘EL-MIDBAR PARAN QADESYAH VAYASYIVU ‘OTAM DAVAR VE’ET-KOL-HA’EDAH VAYARUM ‘ET-PERI HA’ARETS

13:27 LAI TB, Mereka menceritakan kepadanya: “Kami sudah masuk ke negeri, ke mana kausuruh kami, dan memang negeri itu berlimpah-limpah susu dan madunya, dan inilah hasilnya.
KJV, And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

וַיְסַפְּרוּ־לֹו וַיֹּאמְרוּ בָּאנוּ אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר שְׁלַחְתָּנוּ וְגַם זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבַשׁ הִוא וְזֶה־פִּרְיָהּ׃
Translit, VAYESAPRU-LO VAYOMRU BANU ‘EL-HA’ARETS ‘ASYER SYELAKHTANU VEGAM ZAVAT KHALAV UDEVASY HIV VEZEH-PIRYAH

13:28 LAI TB, Hanya, bangsa yang diam di negeri itu kuat-kuat dan kota-kotanya berkubu dan sangat besar, juga keturunan Enak telah kami lihat di sana.
KJV, Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

אֶפֶס כִּי־עַז הָעָם הַיֹּשֵׁב בָּאָרֶץ וְהֶעָרִים בְּצֻרֹות גְּדֹלֹת מְאֹד וְגַם־יְלִדֵי הָעֲנָק רָאִינוּ שָׁם׃
Translit, ‘EFES KI-‘AZ HA’AM HAYOSYEV BA’ARETS VEHE’ARIM BETSUROT GEDOLOT ME’OD VEGAM-YELIDEY HA’ANAQ RAINU SYAM

13:29 LAI TB, Orang Amalek diam di Tanah Negeb, orang Het, orang Yebus dan orang Amori diam di pegunungan, orang Kanaan diam sepanjang laut dan sepanjang tepi sungai Yordan.”
KJV, The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

עֲמָלֵק יֹושֵׁב בְּאֶרֶץ הַנֶּגֶב וְהַחִתִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי וְהָאֱמֹרִי יֹושֵׁב בָּהָר וְהַכְּנַעֲנִי יֹשֵׁב עַל־הַיָּם וְעַל יַד הַיַּרְדֵּן׃
Translit, ‘AMALEQ YOSYEV BE’ERETS HANEGEV VEHAKHITI VEHAIVUSI VEHA’EMORI YOSYEV BAHAR VEHAKNA’ANI YOSYEV ‘AL-HAYAM VE’AL YAD HAYARDEN

13:30 LAI TB, Kemudian Kaleb mencoba menenteramkan hati bangsa itu di hadapan Musa, katanya: “Tidak! Kita akan maju dan menduduki negeri itu, sebab kita pasti akan mengalahkannya!”
KJV, And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

וַיַּהַס כָּלֵב אֶת־הָעָם אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וַיֹּאמֶר עָלֹה נַעֲלֶה וְיָרַשְׁנוּ אֹתָהּ כִּי־יָכֹול נוּכַל לָהּ׃
Translit, VAYAHAS KALEV ‘ET-HA’AM ‘EL-MOSYEH VAYOMER ‘ALO NA’ALEH VEYARASYNU ‘OTAH KI-YAKHOL NUKHAL LAH

13:31 LAI TB, Tetapi orang-orang yang pergi ke sana bersama-sama dengan dia berkata: “Kita tidak dapat maju menyerang bangsa itu, karena mereka lebih kuat dari pada kita.”
KJV, But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

וְהָאֲנָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר־עָלוּ עִמֹּו אָמְרוּ לֹא נוּכַל לַעֲלֹות אֶל־הָעָם כִּי־חָזָק הוּא מִמֶּנּוּ׃
Translit, VEHA’ANASYIM ‘ASYER ‘ALU ‘IMO ‘AMRU LO NUKHAL LA’ALOT ‘EL-HA’AM KI-KHAZAQ HU MIMENU

13:32 LAI TB, Juga mereka menyampaikan kepada orang Israel kabar busuk tentang negeri yang diintai mereka, dengan berkata: “Negeri yang telah kami lalui untuk diintai adalah suatu negeri yang memakan penduduknya, dan semua orang yang kami lihat di sana adalah orang-orang yang tinggi-tinggi perawakannya.
KJV, And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

וַיֹּוצִיאוּ דִּבַּת הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר תָּרוּ אֹתָהּ אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר עָבַרְנוּ בָהּ לָתוּר אֹתָהּ אֶרֶץ אֹכֶלֶת יֹושְׁבֶיהָ הִוא וְכָל־הָעָם אֲשֶׁר־רָאִינוּ בְתֹוכָהּ אַנְשֵׁי מִדֹּות׃
Translit, VAYOTSIU DIBAT HA’ARETS ‘ASYER TARU ‘OTAH ‘EL-BENEY YISRA’EL LEMOR HA’ARETS ‘ASYER ‘AVARNU VAH LATUR ‘OTAH ‘ERETS ‘OKHELET YO’OSYVEIHA HIV VEKHOL-HA’AM ‘ASYER-RA’INU VETOKHA ‘ANSYEY MIDOT

13:33 LAI TB, Juga kami lihat di sana orang-orang raksasa, orang Enak yang berasal dari orang-orang raksasa, dan kami lihat diri kami seperti belalang, dan demikian juga mereka terhadap kami.”
KJV, And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

וְשָׁם רָאִינוּ אֶת־הַנְּפִילִים בְּנֵי עֲנָק מִן־הַנְּפִלִים וַנְּהִי בְעֵינֵינוּ כַּחֲגָבִים וְכֵן הָיִינוּ בְּעֵינֵיהֶם׃
