23:1 LAI TB, Sara hidup seratus dua puluh tujuh tahun lamanya; itulah umur Sara.
KJV, And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.

וַיִּהְיוּ חַיֵּי שָׂרָה מֵאָה שָׁנָה וְעֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וְשֶׁבַע שָׁנִים שְׁנֵי חַיֵּי שָׂרָה׃
Translit, VAYIHYU KHAYEY SARAH ME’AH SYANAH VE’ESRIM SYANAH VESYEVA SYANIM SYENEY KHAYEY SARAH

23:2 LAI TB, Kemudian matilah Sara di Kiryat-Arba, yaitu Hebron, di tanah Kanaan, lalu Abraham datang meratapi dan menangisinya.
KJV, And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.

וַתָּמָת שָׂרָה בְּקִרְיַת אַרְבַּע הִוא חֶבְרֹון בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן וַיָּבֹא אַבְרָהָם לִסְפֹּד לְשָׂרָה וְלִבְכֹּתָהּ׃
Translit, VATAMAT SARAH BEQIRYAT ‘ARBA HIV KHEVRON BE’ERETS KENA’AN VAYAVO ‘AVRAHAM LISPOD LESARAH VELIVKOTAH

23:3 LAI TB, Sesudah itu Abraham bangkit dan meninggalkan isterinya yang mati itu, lalu berkata kepada bani Het:
KJV, And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying,

וַיָּקָם אַבְרָהָם מֵעַל פְּנֵי מֵתֹו וַיְדַבֵּר אֶל־בְּנֵי־חֵת לֵאמֹר׃
Translit, VAYAQAM ‘AVRAHAM ME’AL PENEY METO VAYEDABER ‘EL-BENEY-KHET LEMOR

23:4 LAI TB, “Aku ini orang asing dan pendatang di antara kamu; berikanlah kiranya kuburan milik kepadaku di tanah kamu ini, supaya kiranya aku dapat mengantarkan dan menguburkan isteriku yang mati itu.”
KJV, I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
Hebrew,
גֵּר־וְתֹושָׁב אָנֹכִי עִמָּכֶם תְּנוּ לִי אֲחֻזַּת־קֶבֶר עִמָּכֶם וְאֶקְבְּרָה מֵתִי מִלְּפָנָי׃
Translit, GER-VETOSYAV ‘ANOKHI ‘IMAKHEM TENU LI ‘AKHUZAT-QEVER ‘IMAKHEM VE’EQBERAH METI MILFANAY

23:5 LAI TB, Bani Het menjawab Abraham:
KJV, And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,

וַיַּעֲנוּ בְנֵי־חֵת אֶת־אַבְרָהָם לֵאמֹר לֹו׃
Translit, VAYA’ANU VENEY-KHET ‘ET-‘AVRAHAM LEMOR LO

23:6 LAI TB, “Dengarlah kepada kami, tuanku. Tuanku ini seorang raja agung di tengah-tengah kami; jadi kuburkanlah isterimu yang mati itu dalam kuburan kami yang terpilih, tidak akan ada seorang pun dari kami yang menolak menyediakan kuburannya bagimu untuk menguburkan isterimu yang mati itu.”
KJV, Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.

שְׁמָעֵנוּ ׀ אֲדֹנִי נְשִׂיא אֱלֹהִים אַתָּה בְּתֹוכֵנוּ בְּמִבְחַר קְבָרֵינוּ קְבֹר אֶת־מֵתֶךָ אִישׁ מִמֶּנּוּ אֶת־קִבְרֹו לֹא־יִכְלֶה מִמְּךָ מִקְּבֹר מֵתֶךָ׃

23:7 LAI TB, Kemudian bangunlah Abraham lalu sujud kepada bani Het, penduduk negeri itu,
KJV, And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.

וַיָּקָם אַבְרָהָם וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ לְעַם־הָאָרֶץ לִבְנֵי־חֵת׃
Translit, VAYAKAM ‘AVRAHAM VAYISHTAKHU LE’AM-HA’ARETS LIVNEY-KHET

23:8 LAI TB, serta berkata kepada mereka: “Jika kamu setuju, bahwa aku mengantarkan dan menguburkan isteriku yang mati itu, maka dengarkanlah aku dan tolonglah mintakan dengan sangat kepada Efron bin Zohar,
KJV, And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,

וַיְדַבֵּר אִתָּם לֵאמֹר אִם־יֵשׁ אֶת־נַפְשְׁכֶם לִקְבֹּר אֶת־מֵתִי מִלְּפָנַי שְׁמָעוּנִי וּפִגְעוּ־לִי בְּעֶפְרֹון בֶּן־צֹחַר׃
Translit, VAYEDABER ‘ITAM LEMOR ‘IM-YESY ‘ET-NAFSYEKHEM LIQBOR ‘ET-METI MILFANAY SYEMAUNI UFIGU-LI BE’EFRON BEN-TSOKHAR:

23:9 LAI TB, supaya ia memberikan kepadaku gua Makhpela miliknya itu, yang terletak di ujung ladangnya; baiklah itu diberikannya kepadaku dengan harga penuh untuk menjadi kuburan milikku di tengah-tengah kamu.”
KJV, That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.
Hebrew,
וְיִתֶּן־לִי אֶת־מְעָרַת הַמַּכְפֵּלָה אֲשֶׁר־לֹו אֲשֶׁר בִּקְצֵה שָׂדֵהוּ בְּכֶסֶף מָלֵא יִתְּנֶנָּה לִי בְּתֹוכְכֶם לַאֲחֻזַּת־קָבֶר׃
Translit, VEYITEN-LI ‘ET-ME’ARAT HAMAKHPELAH ‘ASYER-LO ‘ASYER BIQTSEH SADEHU BEKHESEF MALE YITNENAH LI BETOKHAKHEM LA’AKHUZAT-KAVER

23:10 LAI TB, Pada waktu itu Efron hadir di tengah-tengah bani Het. Maka jawab Efron, orang Het itu, kepada Abraham dengan didengar oleh bani Het, oleh semua orang yang datang di pintu gerbang kota:
KJV, And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,

וְעֶפְרֹון יֹשֵׁב בְּתֹוךְ בְּנֵי־חֵת וַיַּעַן עֶפְרֹון הַחִתִּי אֶת־אַבְרָהָם בְּאָזְנֵי בְנֵי־חֵת לְכֹל בָּאֵי שַׁעַר־עִירֹו לֵאמֹר׃
Translit, VE’EFRON YOSYEV BETOKH BENEY-KHET VAYA’AN ‘EFRON HAKHITI ‘ET-‘AVRAHAM BE’AZNEY VENEY-KHET LEKHOL BA’EY SYA’AR-‘IRO LEMOR

23:11 LAI TB, “Tidak, tuanku, dengarkanlah aku; ladang itu kuberikan kepadamu dan gua yang di sana pun kuberikan kepadamu; di depan mata orang-orang sebangsaku kuberikan itu kepadamu; kuburkanlah isterimu yang mati itu.”
KJV, Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead.

לֹא־אֲדֹנִי שְׁמָעֵנִי הַשָּׂדֶה נָתַתִּי לָךְ וְהַמְּעָרָה אֲשֶׁר־בֹּו לְךָ נְתַתִּיהָ לְעֵינֵי בְנֵי־עַמִּי נְתַתִּיהָ לָּךְ קְבֹר מֵתֶךָ׃

23:12 LAI TB, Lalu sujudlah Abraham di depan penduduk negeri itu
KJV, And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.

וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ אַבְרָהָם לִפְנֵי עַם הָאָרֶץ׃
Translit, VAYISYTAKHU ‘AVRAHAM LIFNEY ‘AM-HA’ARETS

23:13 LAI TB, serta berkata kepada Efron dengan didengar oleh mereka: “Sesungguhnya, jika engkau suka, dengarkanlah aku: aku membayar harga ladang itu; terimalah itu dari padaku, supaya aku dapat menguburkan isteriku yang mati itu di sana.”
KJV, And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.

וַיְדַבֵּר אֶל־עֶפְרֹון בְּאָזְנֵי עַם־הָאָרֶץ לֵאמֹר אַךְ אִם־אַתָּה לוּ שְׁמָעֵנִי נָתַתִּי כֶּסֶף הַשָּׂדֶה קַח מִמֶּנִּי וְאֶקְבְּרָה אֶת־מֵתִי שָׁמָּה׃

23:14 LAI TB, Jawab Efron kepada Abraham:

Translit, VAYA’AN ‘EFRON ‘ET-‘AVRAHAM LEMOR LO

23:15 LAI TB, “Tuanku, dengarkanlah aku: sebidang tanah dengan harga empat ratus syikal perak, apa artinya itu bagi kita? Kuburkan sajalah isterimu yang mati itu.”
KJV, My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.

אֲדֹנִי שְׁמָעֵנִי אֶרֶץ אַרְבַּע מֵאֹת שֶׁקֶל־כֶּסֶף בֵּינִי וּבֵינְךָ מַה־הִוא וְאֶת־מֵתְךָ קְבֹר׃
Translit, ‘ADONI SYEMA’ENI ‘ERETS ‘ARBA ME’OT SYEQEL-KESEF BEINI UVENKHA MA-HIV VE’ET-METKHA QEVOR

23:16 LAI TB, Lalu Abraham menerima usul Efron, maka ditimbangnyalah perak untuk Efron, sebanyak yang dimintanya dengan didengar oleh bani Het itu, empat ratus syikal perak, seperti yang berlaku di antara para saudagar.
KJV, And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant.

וַיִּשְׁמַע אַבְרָהָם אֶל־עֶפְרֹון וַיִּשְׁקֹל אַבְרָהָם לְעֶפְרֹן אֶת־הַכֶּסֶף אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר בְּאָזְנֵי בְנֵי־חֵת אַרְבַּע מֵאֹות שֶׁקֶל כֶּסֶף עֹבֵר לַסֹּחֵר׃
Translit, VAYISYMA ‘AVRAHAM ‘EL-‘EFRON VAYISYQOL ‘AVRAHAM LE’EFRON ‘ET-HAKESEF ‘ASYER DIBER BE’AZNEY VENEY-KHET ‘ARBA ME’OT SYEQEL KESEF ‘OVER LASOKHER

23:17 LAI TB, Demikianlah ladang Efron, yang letaknya di Makhpela di sebelah timur Mamre, ladang dan gua yang di sana, serta segala pohon di ladang itu, bahkan di seluruh tanah itu sampai ke tepi-tepinya,
KJV, And the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure

23:18 LAI TB, diserahkan kepada Abraham menjadi tanah belian, di depan mata bani Het itu, di depan semua orang yang datang di pintu gerbang kota.
KJV, Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.

23:19 LAI TB, Sesudah itu Abraham menguburkan Sara, isterinya, di dalam gua ladang Makhpela itu, di sebelah timur Mamre, yaitu Hebron di tanah Kanaan.
KJV, And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan.

וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן קָבַר אַבְרָהָם אֶת־שָׂרָה אִשְׁתֹּו אֶל־מְעָרַת שְׂדֵה הַמַּכְפֵּלָה עַל־פְּנֵי מַמְרֵא הִוא חֶבְרֹון בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן׃
Translit, VE’AKHAREY-KHEN QAVAR ‘AVRAHAM ‘ET-SARA ‘ISYTO ‘EL-ME’ARAT SEDEH HAMAKHPELAH ‘AL-PENEY MAMRE HIV KHEVRON BE’ERETS KENA’AN

23:20 LAI TB, Demikianlah dari pihak bani Het ladang dengan gua yang ada di sana diserahkan kepada Abraham menjadi kuburan miliknya.
KJV, And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth.

וַיָּקָם הַשָּׂדֶה וְהַמְּעָרָה אֲשֶׁר־בֹּו לְאַבְרָהָם לַאֲחֻזַּת־קָבֶר מֵאֵת בְּנֵי־חֵת׃ ס
