1:1 LAI TB, Inilah nama para anak Israel yang datang ke Mesir bersama-sama dengan Yakub; mereka datang dengan keluarganya masing-masing:
KJV, Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.

1:4 LAI TB, Dan serta Naftali, Gad dan Asyer.
KJV, Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

דָּן וְנַפְתָּלִי גָּד וְאָשֵׁר׃
Translit, DAN VENAFTALI GAD VE’ASYER

1:5 LAI TB, Seluruh keturunan yang diperoleh Yakub berjumlah tujuh puluh jiwa. Tetapi Yusuf telah ada di Mesir.
KJV, And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.

וַיְהִי כָּל־נֶפֶשׁ יֹצְאֵי יֶרֶךְ־יַעֲקֹב שִׁבְעִים נָפֶשׁ וְיֹוסֵף הָיָה בְמִצְרָיִם׃

1:6 LAI TB, Kemudian matilah Yusuf, serta semua saudara-saudaranya dan semua orang yang seangkatan dengan dia.
KJV, And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.

וַיָּמָת יֹוסֵף וְכָל־אֶחָיו וְכֹל הַדֹּור הַהוּא׃

1:7 LAI TB, Orang-orang Israel beranak cucu dan tak terbilang jumlahnya; mereka bertambah banyak dan dengan dahsyat berlipat ganda, sehingga negeri itu dipenuhi mereka.
KJV, And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

וּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל פָּרוּ וַיִּשְׁרְצוּ וַיִּרְבּוּ וַיַּעַצְמוּ בִּמְאֹד מְאֹד וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ אֹתָם׃ פ

1:8 LAI TB, Kemudian bangkitlah seorang raja baru memerintah tanah Mesir, yang tidak mengenal Yusuf.
KJV, Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

וַיָּקָם מֶלֶךְ־חָדָשׁ עַל־מִצְרָיִם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדַע אֶת־יֹוסֵף׃
Translit, VAYAQAM MELEKH-KHADASY ‘AL-MITSRAYIM ‘ASYER LO-YADA ‘ET-YOSEF

1:9 LAI TB, Berkatalah raja itu kepada rakyatnya: “Bangsa Israel itu sangat banyak dan lebih besar jumlahnya dari pada kita.
KJV, And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:
Hebrew,
וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־עַמֹּו הִנֵּה עַם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל רַב וְעָצוּם מִמֶּנּוּ׃
Translit, VAYOMER ‘EL-AMO HINEH ‘AM BENEY YISRA’EL RAV VE’ATSUM MIMENU

1:10 LAI TB, Marilah kita bertindak dengan bijaksana terhadap mereka, supaya mereka jangan bertambah banyak lagi dan — jika terjadi peperangan — jangan bersekutu nanti dengan musuh kita dan memerangi kita, lalu pergi dari negeri ini.”
KJV, Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
Hebrew,
הָבָה נִתְחַכְּמָה לֹו פֶּן־יִרְבֶּה וְהָיָה כִּי־תִקְרֶאנָה מִלְחָמָה וְנֹוסַף גַּם־הוּא עַל־שֹׂנְאֵינוּ וְנִלְחַם־בָּנוּ וְעָלָה מִן־הָאָרֶץ׃
Translit, HAVA NITKHAKMAH LO PEN-YIRBEH VEHAYAH KI-TIQRENAH MILKHAMAH VENOSAF GAM-HU ‘AL-SONEYNU VENILKHAM-BANU VE’ALAH MIN-HA’ARETS

1:11 LAI TB, Sebab itu pengawas-pengawas rodi ditempatkan atas mereka untuk menindas mereka dengan kerja paksa: mereka harus mendirikan bagi Firaun kota-kota perbekalan, yakni Pitom dan Raamses.
KJV, Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
Hebrew,
וַיָּשִׂימוּ עָלָיו שָׂרֵי מִסִּים לְמַעַן עַנֹּתֹו בְּסִבְלֹתָם וַיִּבֶן עָרֵי מִסְכְּנֹות לְפַרְעֹה אֶת־פִּתֹם וְאֶת־רַעַמְסֵס׃
Translit, VAYASIMU ‘ALAV SAREY MISIM LEMA’AN ‘ANOTO BESIVLOTAM VAYIVEN ‘AREY MISKENOT LEFAROH ‘ET-PITOM VE’ET-RA’AMSES

1:12 LAI TB, Tetapi makin ditindas, makin bertambah banyak dan berkembang mereka, sehingga orang merasa takut kepada orang Israel itu.
KJV, But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.

וְכַאֲשֶׁר יְעַנּוּ אֹתֹו כֵּן יִרְבֶּה וְכֵן יִפְרֹץ וַיָּקֻצוּ מִפְּנֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

1:13 LAI TB, Lalu dengan kejam orang Mesir memaksa orang Israel bekerja,
KJV, And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:

וַיַּעֲבִדוּ מִצְרַיִם אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּפָרֶךְ׃
Translit, VAYA’AVIDU {dan mereka mempekerjakan} MITSRAYIM {orang2 mesir} ‘ET- {pada} BENEY YISRA’EL {pani Israel} BEFAREKH {dalam pekerjaan berat}

1:14 LAI TB, dan memahitkan hidup mereka dengan pekerjaan yang berat, yaitu mengerjakan tanah liat dan batu bata, dan berbagai-bagai pekerjaan di padang, ya segala pekerjaan yang dengan kejam dipaksakan orang Mesir kepada mereka itu.
KJV, And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.
Hebrew,
וַיְמָרְרוּ אֶת־חַיֵּיהֶם בַּעֲבֹדָה קָשָׁה בְּחֹמֶר וּבִלְבֵנִים וּבְכָל־עֲבֹדָה בַּשָּׂדֶה אֵת כָּל־עֲבֹדָתָם אֲשֶׁר־עָבְדוּ בָהֶם בְּפָרֶךְ׃
Translit, VAYEMARARU {dan mereka menjadikan pahit} ‘ET- {pada} KHAYEYHEM {kehidupan mereka} BA’AVODAH {di dalam pekerjaan} QASHAH {yang sulit} BEKHOMER {pada tanah liat} UVIL’VENIM {dan pembuatan batu2 bata} UVEKHOL- {dan seluruh} ‘AVODAH {pekerjaan} BASADEH {di ladang} ‘ET {pada} KOL- {seluruh} ‘AVODATAM {pekerjaan mereka} ‘ASHER- {yang} ‘AV’DU {mereka harus mengejakan} VAHEM {pada mereka} BEFAREKH {dalam pekerjaan paksa/ berat}

1:15 LAI TB, Raja Mesir juga memerintahkan kepada bidan-bidan yang menolong perempuan Ibrani, seorang bernama Sifra dan yang lain bernama Pua, katanya:
KJV, And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:
Hebrew,
וַיֹּאמֶר מֶלֶךְ מִצְרַיִם לַמְיַלְּדֹת הָעִבְרִיֹּת אֲשֶׁר שֵׁם הָאַחַת שִׁפְרָה וְשֵׁם הַשֵּׁנִית פּוּעָה׃
Translit, VAYOMER MELEKH MITSRAYIM LAMYALDOT HA’IVRIYOT ‘ASYER SYEM HA’AKHAT SYIFRAH VESYEM HASYENIT PU’AH

1:16 LAI TB, “Apabila kamu menolong perempuan Ibrani pada waktu bersalin, kamu harus memperhatikan waktu anak itu lahir: jika anak laki-laki, kamu harus membunuhnya, tetapi jika anak perempuan, bolehlah ia hidup.”
KJV, And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.
Hebrew,
וַיֹּאמֶר בְּיַלֶּדְכֶן אֶת־הָעִבְרִיֹּות וּרְאִיתֶן עַל־הָאָבְנָיִם אִם־בֵּן הוּא וַהֲמִתֶּן אֹתֹו וְאִם־בַּת הִיא וָחָיָה׃
Translit, VAYOMER BEYALEDKHEN ‘ET-HA’IVRIYOT UREITEN ‘AL-HA’AVNAYIM IM-BEN HU VAHAMITEN ‘OTO VE’IM-BAT HIV VAKHAYAH

1:17 LAI TB, Tetapi bidan-bidan itu takut akan Allah dan tidak melakukan seperti yang dikatakan raja Mesir kepada mereka, dan membiarkan bayi-bayi itu hidup.
KJV, But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.

וַתִּירֶאןָ הַמְיַלְּדֹת אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים וְלֹא עָשׂוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר אֲלֵיהֶן מֶלֶךְ מִצְרָיִם וַתְּחַיֶּיןָ אֶת־הַיְלָדִים׃
Translit, VATIRENA HAMEYALDOT ‘ET-HA’ELOHIM VELO ‘ASU KA’ASYER DIBER ‘ALEYHEN MELEKH MITSRAYIM VATEKHAYEYNA ‘ET-HAYELADIM

1:18 LAI TB, Lalu raja Mesir memanggil bidan-bidan itu dan bertanya kepada mereka: “Mengapakah kamu berbuat demikian membiarkan hidup bayi-bayi itu?”
KJV, And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?
Hebrew,
וַיִּקְרָא מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם לַמְיַלְּדֹת וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶן מַדּוּעַ עֲשִׂיתֶן הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה וַתְּחַיֶּיןָ אֶת־הַיְלָדִים׃
Translit, VAYIQRA MELEKH-MITSRAYIM LAMYALDOT VAYOMER LAHEN MADU’A ‘ASITEN HADAVAR HAZEH VATEKHAYEYNA ‘ET-HAYELADIM

1:19 LAI TB, Jawab bidan-bidan itu kepada Firaun: “Sebab perempuan Ibrani tidak sama dengan perempuan Mesir; melainkan mereka kuat: sebelum bidan datang, mereka telah bersalin.”
KJV, And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.
Hebrew,
וַתֹּאמַרְןָ הַמְיַלְּדֹת אֶל־פַּרְעֹה כִּי לֹא כַנָּשִׁים הַמִּצְרִיֹּת הָעִבְרִיֹּת כִּי־חָיֹות הֵנָּה בְּטֶרֶם תָּבֹוא אֲלֵהֶן הַמְיַלֶּדֶת וְיָלָדוּ׃
Translit, VATOMARNA HAMEYALDOT ‘EL-PAROH KI LO KHANASYIM HAMITSRIYOT HA’IVRIYOT KI-KHAYOT HENAH BETEREM TAVO ‘ALEHEN HAMEYALEDET VEYALADU

1:20 LAI TB, Maka Allah berbuat baik kepada bidan-bidan itu; bertambah banyaklah bangsa itu dan sangat berlipat ganda.
KJV, Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
Hebrew,
וַיֵּיטֶב אֱלֹהִים לַמְיַלְּדֹת וַיִּרֶב הָעָם וַיַּעַצְמוּ מְאֹד׃
Translit, VAYEYTEV ‘ELOHIM LAMYALDOT VAYIREV HA’AM VAYA’ATSMU ME’OD

1:21 LAI TB, Dan karena bidan-bidan itu takut akan Allah, maka Ia membuat mereka berumah tangga.
KJV, And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.
Hebrew,
וַיְהִי כִּי־יָרְאוּ הַמְיַלְּדֹת אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים וַיַּעַשׂ לָהֶם בָּתִּים׃
Translit, VAYEHI KI-YARU HAMEYALDOT ‘ET-HA’ELOHIM VAYA’AS LAHEM BATIM

1:22 LAI TB, Lalu Firaun memberi perintah kepada seluruh rakyatnya: “Lemparkanlah segala anak laki-laki yang lahir bagi orang Ibrani ke dalam sungai Nil; tetapi segala anak perempuan biarkanlah hidup.”
KJV, And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
Hebrew,
וַיְצַו פַּרְעֹה לְכָל־עַמֹּו לֵאמֹר כָּל־הַבֵּן הַיִּלֹּוד הַיְאֹרָה תַּשְׁלִיכֻהוּ וְכָל־הַבַּת תְּחַיּוּן׃ ס
Translit, VAYETSAV PAROH LEKHOL-‘AMO LEMOR KOL-HABEN HAYILOD HAYE’ORAH TASYLIKHUHU VEKHOL-HABAT TEKHAYUN
